Carolyn Reimann: Townsville Twilight Sail

Wednesday Night Sailing was one of the first great community activities I got involved in when I moved to Townsville back in 2014. Back then it was free, but now they charge $10. Which is nothing for the experience!

You get to go out with all these locals, have some casual drinks and watch the sunset over castle hill while you are out on the water.

If you have sailing experience you can be beneficial for the boats as they just have a casual race against each other. If you have no sailing experience that doesn’t matter, they are more than happy to teach you! Which was helpful for me as you saw in the last post I had the opportunity to go in a yacht race week on Hamilton Island.

When: Wednesday starting at 4:30-5pm (when you need to register) going until around 9pm

Where: Townsville Yacht Club

What to bring: beverages, snacks, warm clothes/windbreaker (as it gets cold and windy on the water)
